Data Visualization: Excel and beyond
Most humanities scholars will agree that to understand their research object means to visualize it to some extent. This session of the Digital History Workshop is designed to experiment with basic digital tools that may help humanities scholars to visually represent the patterns and interconnections contained in their source material.
The workshop is meant for all humanities researchers. Participants will explore the visualization options in MS Excel, GNUplot and D3.js. The session advances from an Excel-based dataset; researchers may bring their own data or use one provided by us.
