Reconstructing Cinema Networks
In this session of the CREATE Digital History Workshop we practiced working with Gephi, the popular software for Network Analysis.
The workshop that we had originally scheduled for November, had to be cancelled due to an unforeseen attack of the flu.
Julia Noordegraaf, Professor of Heritage and Digital Culture and CREATE Program Director stepped in and gave an introductory workshop on Gephi’s basic functionalities based on her own work on the online Cinema Context research environment (see website).
Workshop participants were invited to explore the uses of the popular tool for Network Analysis hands-on, while working on a historical dataset on Dutch cinema networks (for the handout and cinema context data file, please visit our Tutorials Page).
