Analysing Gephi #3: The Dutch Blogosphere and Tracker Networks

In this final session of the CREATE Digital History Workshop miniseries on Network Analysis we will continue working with the popular software for network analysis and visualization Gephi.

We are very happy to announce Anne Helmond as our speaker. Helmond is Assistant Professor and Program Director of the MA New Media & Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam. She will host this session on Gephi together with her colleague Fernando van der Vlist.

Helmond and Van der Vlist will introduce different use case scenarios of the Network Analysis software based on examples from Helmond’s current and past research into the historical development of the Dutch blogosphere and tracker networks. Together they have prepared a hands-on workshop that will allow us to continue and explore the functionalities of the Gephi in further depth.

You can register for the workshop by sending an email to Hanna Jansen h.e.jansen@uva.nl (unregistering no later than two days in advance of the workshop). Reading materials will be provided upon registration. More information on the workshop can be found here.

Meanwhile, we hope you will enjoy this official Gephi teaser.
